Ribeira Izé Lost City Trail

~3 hours, hiking, available all year

This guided walk begins at Sundy Beach and winds through forest and along the coastline to the evocative ruins of Ribeira Izé. Founded in the 16^th century, the settlement was once a thriving centre for sugar cane and coffee production before being gradually abandoned in the 19^th century.

Today, the remains of its church and historic structures rest quietly within the landscape, offering a fascinating glimpse into Príncipe’s colonial past.
