Our sustainability work is not developed in isolation. HBD Príncipe's strategy is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For example, our waste management and island-wide recycling programs contribute to SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production; our stewardship of the concessions in our care contributes to SDG 15: Life on Land; and our work as Príncipe's largest employer, where 98% of our team is from the islands, contributes to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, among others. Furthermore, our strategy is aligned with "Príncipe 2030," the SDG-based Sustainable Development Plan for the Autonomous Region of Príncipe. As we say in Príncipe, "estamos juntos": we are in this together.
